Privacy Policy
Art Kelen handles your personal data with the same care we apply to everything else we do. This policy explains, in plain terms, what we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We operate under French law and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

01 — WHAT WE COLLECT
What we collect,
and why
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and any details you choose to add to your profile. When you place an order, we collect your billing and shipping addresses, what you bought, and the artist you bought it from — but the actual payment card details go directly to our payment processor and never touch our servers. When you browse the site, we record technical data like your IP address, the type of browser you're using, and which pages you visited. We use a small set of cookies — described in detail on our cookie preferences page — to make the platform work.
The legal basis for each of these depends on what we're doing: contract performance for everything tied to a purchase or account, legitimate interest for analytics that help us understand how the platform is being used, and your consent for anything beyond that.
02 — HOW WE USE IT
How we
use your data
We use your data to deliver the service you came for: processing your orders, sending you the transactional emails tied to those orders, managing your account, and answering you when you write to us. We also use aggregated, non-identifying statistics to understand how the platform is being used and how to make it better — which artists are being looked at, which pages are being read, where in the world our readers sit.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train AI models. We do not run profiling or automated decision-making. We do not have an advertising business and we never will.
03 — WHO WE SHARE WITH
Third parties
we work with
We share data only with the service providers we need to actually run the platform. Stripe processes payments and is the only entity that sees your payment card details. Brevo sends our transactional emails. Our hosting provider stores the platform itself. Shipping carriers handle deliveries on the artists' behalf. Each of these is bound by a data processing agreement that obliges them to protect your data on the same terms we do, and to use it only for the specific service they provide.
We never share your data with any third party for any purpose beyond delivering the service you signed up for.
04 — WHERE YOUR DATA LIVES
Where your
data lives
The platform is hosted in the European Union. Most of the service providers we work with are also based in the EU. Stripe, our payment processor, is a US company that processes EU data under the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, which is the framework currently used to legitimize transfers of personal data outside the EU.
05 — HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
How long
we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. We keep records of completed orders for seven years, which is the retention period required by French tax and commercial law. We keep aggregated, non-identifying analytics indefinitely because they contain no personal data. When you close your account, we delete your personal data within thirty days, except for the order records we are legally required to retain.
06 — YOUR RIGHTS
Your
rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct anything that's wrong, to ask us to delete it, to ask us to restrict how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to object to certain kinds of processing. You also have the right to withdraw consent for anything you originally consented to, and the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL — the French data protection authority — if you believe we're not handling your data correctly.
To exercise any of these rights, write to meetdaffa@art-kelen.com. We respond within thirty days.
07 — CHANGES & CONTACT
Changes
and contact
This policy may change as the platform evolves or as the law changes. When that happens, we update the date at the top of the page and, for material changes, we notify account holders by email. The current version is always at this URL.
