Alun B

Biography

Alun Be, whose real name is Alioune Ba, was born in 1981 in Dakar. He currently lives and works between Paris and Amsterdam. An architect by training and a musician in his spare time, this lover of photography favours portraiture and street photography, though his field of inquiry is vast.

In 2015 his work was unveiled to a wider audience through a portrait series titled "Empowerment of Women in Action", first presented at the Milan Universal Exposition before travelling to Paris and the 2016 Dakar Biennale. The images seek to move beyond the portraits commonly made of Africa.
Since then, the artist has exhibited his work in Italy, France, England, Senegal and the United States.
