Biography

Kofi is a young painter of Ghanaian origin living in Paris. Before devoting himself to painting, he worked for several years in various communications and advertising agencies as art director, but soon felt the need to impose his own constraints on his art.

Over the years and after several exhibitions, his identity has firmed up to produce a painting that oscillates between cubism and figuration.

This enthusiasm is particularly evident in his most recent exhibition, Préhistoire Moderne. The aim is to stage a journey from our era back to prehistory, encountering the first humans. The result is a striking material — a colourful blend of primitive and contemporary forms representing this exchange across the ages. He addresses simple, universal themes such as love, hope, freedom and above all imagination, which is the matrix of his work.

Between exhibitions and happenings, Kofi frees himself from the usual images of contemporary creation to develop works of character that draw not only on History but also on his own history.
