Biography

Mokodu Fall is a Senegalese artist born in 1975. He is the son of a diplomat. After practising his art at home in the early 1990s as a political cartoonist for the magazines "Afrique Economique" and "Le Débat", he settled in Italy in 1995, where he has continued his passion for painting. His work deeply reflects his country of origin despite his geographical distance and his discovery of new cultures. The artist is a specialist in figurative / portrait painting, and his work depicts those who have contributed to the development of African culture, world peace and urban cultures.

His work depicts personalities of great stature around the world such as Barack Obama, Cheikh Anta Diop, Léopold Sédar Senghor, Nelson Mandela, as well as musicians like Ray Charles, Bob Marley, Youssou N'Dour and Fela Anikulapo Kuti. For him, music is a means of spreading peace and unity throughout the world.

His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions worldwide, notably at the African art fair in October 2015 in Paris (France); in May 2015 at the Contemporary Art and Culture Biennale in Rome (Italy); and in May 2016 at Dak'art Dakar (Senegal).
