Biography

Serine Macene is a Senegalese painter offering a fine, precise painting of coloured pointillism. He defines himself as a citizen of the world.

He distinguished himself notably as the first African painter to create the cupola frescoes of Château de Colombe Bia in Côte d'Ivoire.

This painter who treats Africa first asserts himself with his slender, gentle, weightless figures, in spare lines that dance and shine.

Highly attuned to the harmonies of colour, which he makes sing and sparkle at the touch of the brush, he adds playful, rhythmic forms, and his canvases become almost musical.

Over time, his painting has evolved; more mature, more abstract, it now addresses real issues — it becomes a chronicle of life in Africa.

Vivid colours and fluid lines come together and intertwine, his works become expressions, returning to us positive symbols, all in delicacy.

He exhibits in many African countries and in France.
