Most people arrive at Art Kelen on one of two paths: to show work, or to find it. The platform is built for both, and your account supports either — or both at once.
If you are an artist, Art Kelen is a place to present your work to collectors who are looking with intention. Joining as an artist means submitting your work for review. Every artist is personally considered by Daffa Konaté before appearing on the platform — this is what keeps the marketplace curated, and it is the reason a place here means something. Once approved, you can list works, respond to collector enquiries, track sales, and receive payouts. The guides under Listing & Managing Work and Payouts & Earnings walk through all of it.
If you are a collector, Art Kelen is a place to discover contemporary African art with context and confidence. You can browse the marketplace freely, follow artists and works that move you, ask questions through enquiries, and acquire pieces knowing each one has a curator’s eye behind it. The guides under Discovering & Acquiring are your starting point.
The two paths are not walls. An artist is often also a collector. A collector may, in time, decide to show work. Whichever you choose at the start simply sets what the platform shows you first — nothing is closed off, and nothing is permanent.
If you are unsure, begin as a collector. Browse, read, get a feel for the place. The door to becoming an artist stays open whenever you are ready.
