Showing your work on Art Kelen begins with an application — and the application is reviewed, not rubber-stamped. This is deliberate. The marketplace is a curated selection, and the review is what keeps it that way.
To apply, create your account and choose the artist path. You will be asked for the essentials: who you are, where you work, your discipline, and a sense of your practice. You can also begin building your profile and preparing a first piece or two of work to submit.
Every application is read personally by Daffa Konaté. The review is not a test of fame or sales history — it is a curatorial look at the work itself and how it sits within contemporary African art. Emerging artists are as welcome as established ones; what matters is the work.
While your application is under review, your account is fully active — you can refine your profile, prepare images, and draft listings so you are ready to move the moment you are approved. You will be notified by email once a decision is made.
If you are approved, your artist dashboard opens fully: you can publish listings, respond to collector enquiries, follow your sales, and set up payouts. If your application is not successful this time, that is not a closed door — practices grow, and you are welcome to apply again with new work.
A place on Art Kelen is meant to mean something. The review is the reason it does.
